The Inevitable Breakup.

"What the fuck? A solar oven?" The other group members were all astounded that something of this nature was possible. Stan had built a solar water heater during the last half of senior year in high school. Same concept, different layout. It was all too easy. Our first order of business was to decide who the head honcho would be, and who the mad writer guy would be. Hands down, Shelly became the team leader with her 3.6 first quarter performance, and Rod became the mad writing superstar, although we were never impressed with his writing speed.

So it was written: Shelly and Rod were going to lead us through this bitch of a project. Our group meeting became more erratic and inconsistent, and I for one wasn't doing much work. Stan did his research on this fucking topic a year before. Shelly took charge once again. "We need to get this thing moving we have to stay on schedule..." Rod agreed. Stan sighed, and Cole's expression did not change.

This feeling of empowerment as displayed by Shelly and Rod only became more of a hindrance rather than an aid. She knew what she was doing, and this was definitely a plus. But it became an issue when it was the two of them working their way to the top. After several missed meeting times, we decided to meet at 10pm in her room.

Stan didn't find out about this meeting until about 10:30 when Rod stopped by. Rod had been skiing all day and had just gotten back. Rod and Stan walked over to AJ, and there were Cole and Shelly, waiting for us to finally arrive. We discussed our information, and planned to meet at the library on Monday at 8pm to do some research. That was all good. Cole and I were ready to go. Rod got up with us, and then said he had to stick around to compare labs with someone. Apparently he had forgotten about that. So, Cole and I meandered back to our dorms and that was the end of that.

Monday, 8pm, Newmann Library. Stan as usual was the last one to arrive. The fifth floor was where all of the information that we needed was. We began researching and reading, venturing to various points in the library. Shelly saw Stan heading for the elevator, as Stan was going to the fourth floor to get some more information. He made his was back upstairs, and was walking along the opposite side of the library. He looked down the aisles of books just to see if anything interesting was there. Stan looked down one aisle, and there were Shelly and Rod, in a lip lock that was only broken when Rod glanced up and saw me passing by, taking a glance at this event. Shelly's back was to Stan. Stan kept on walking as if he hadn't seen anything.

It wasn't until later that week that this whole mess was verified. It became very obvious what was going on here. The kissing in the library, the sticking behind to work on some lab assignments (only god knows what lab experiments they were performing) After Shelly told Stan about this, and of the fact that it was official, She told him to not tell Cole. Cole and Stan already put two and two together.

Now what to do? In a group situation, there is a couple that could break up and cause havoc. If they break up now, it's all down hill from there. If it happens later, it could be catastrophic. So, what to do is definitely the question on everybody's mind. The two leaders are together, and that could lead to some disagreements, and possible feuding. One can only hope for the best.
